Help Arwen Stay in School For 2024

Hello, loved ones!
As many of you know, I have been working on my doctorate in STEM education and absolutely loving it! It had been almost a decade since I left school, and I have thrived being back in the classroom as a student!
A doctorate will help me to continue finding and developing innovative ways to make science education more accessible and exciting to a broader range of people. Acquiring these credentials will enhance my credibility, enabling me to be taken more seriously and catalyze more impactful change in the field!
When Kevin and I decided that I would pursue this degree, we agreed that this time, we wouldn’t go into new debt. It took us years to crawl out from under our crippling student loans and credit cards that had been necessary just to get by. So this time, I have been doing my program part-time and paying for each term out of pocket while working and caring for the family and homestead.
Now that 2023 is almost done (wow, how’d that happen?!) I am looking at our finances for 2024. Unfortunately, we just won’t be able to swing the tuition. We barely eke by each month as it is. I will have to take a leave of absence and cross my fingers that I will get more sign-ups for my classes (I am an online teacher and am paid per student) and more writing assignments as a freelancer next year.
A few of you encouraged me to ask for help. With a little bit of help, I could stay enrolled and keep working towards graduation!
It’s always hard to ask for help, especially in tight times for everyone- and I would never want anyone to feel put upon or pressured. But if you have the means and feel moved, it would mean the world to me. A little bit would go a huge way.
Each term costs $1,200, so the total tuition for 2024 would only be $4,800. Any amount would help me stay enrolled; even getting to do just one term out of the four would be amazing. And we would be incredibly grateful for the support.
You are all amazing, and I love each of you! Thank you.
