My name is Mickey, and I'm seeking support to try and get an essential diagnostic procedure for my sweet dog, Arvo.
I initially made this fundraiser in the hopes of recovering from a hit-and-run that totaled my car this past month, and making it to Greece for a performance workshop. Since publishing the GFM, it became clear that not only would I need to cancel the trip, but we were actually going to need some help getting the most essential care for my dog to continue a happy,
healthy life <3
Arvo has been fighting a chronic sinus infection since we evacuated during the Eaton fires, and we are now certain that he needs to see a specialist.
At this point, my only goal of this fundraiser is to try and reach our goal to afford the CT scan, rhinoscopy, and potential biopsies necessary for him.
We have exhausted all other options (which has also cost thousands). The most likely scenarios now are either that it’s a foreign object or a mass. This affects his breathing and his immune system. If it is a foxtail, it's ticking time-bomb. If it's a fungal infection or tumor, we need to know and move accordingly. The CT/rhino and potential biopsies must be done at a specialist facility, and cost anywhere from $6600-$8000.
Had it not been for the hit-and-run, I would have been able to take care of all this, but at this point my resources are completely exhausted, I am exhausted, and all I want is to be able to fix this for him. He’s in perfect health other than this. The idea that might be taken, just because of an astronomical price tag, breaks my heart into a million pieces.
We found a facility that we like and trust, and I have managed to spread the cost over various forms of financing, but I genuinely don’t know how I’m going to cover the payments (roughly $900 a month). We’re moving forward with the procedure Wednesday October 8th, so really all I can do right now is ask for help.
He is my little angel boy and I need to make sure he’s okay
Anything helps
Thank you
