Help Arturo Get the Care He Desperately Needs

Hello, my name is Marly, and I am reaching out today not only as a wife, but as a woman who has been standing by her husband’s side through the most painful and challenging journey of our lives. My husband, Arturo, has been battling multiple serious health conditions that have taken away his ability to live a normal life and have put our family in a very difficult situation.

Arturo has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, mixed anxiety and depressive disorder, hypertension, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, and most recently acute metabolic encephalopathy. These conditions affect both his mind and body. He experiences muscle rigidity, frequent falls, and moments of confusion that leave him vulnerable and in need of constant care. His hospitalizations have been frequent and heartbreaking, and his daily treatment requires medications, therapy, and now physical rehabilitation to help him regain even the most basic strength and independence.

Arturo was once a hardworking man who contributed to our home and our lives with strength and love. Sadly, three years ago, after an incident connected to his medical condition, he lost his job. Since then, he has been unable to return to work. That day changed everything for us — not only was his health slipping away, but our financial stability was too.

From that moment on, I became the sole provider for our family. I work outside the home to pay our bills, and at the same time, I work tirelessly inside the home as Arturo’s full-time caregiver. I manage his medications, appointments, therapy, and daily needs while also trying to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. I do this with love and devotion, but the truth is, the burden has become more than I can carry alone.

Medical bills continue to pile up. The cost of therapy, doctor visits, and essential medications is overwhelming. Every month feels like a race to cover not only the treatment Arturo needs, but also the basic expenses of living — rent, utilities, groceries, and more. I am exhausted, emotionally and financially, but I refuse to give up on Arturo. He is my husband, my partner, my love, and I will do whatever it takes to fight for his health and well-being.

This is why I am asking for help. We are hoping to raise $20,000 to cover Arturo’s medical expenses and give him access to the ongoing care he desperately needs. This includes his psychiatric treatment, therapy, physical rehabilitation, and medications. With your help, I can continue giving him the care he deserves without the constant fear of losing everything we have left.
