A Christmas gift for the kids of Artsakh
The war in the Artsakh Republic lasted 44 days. Over these 44 days the Azerbaijani forces made widespread use of banned weapons of mass destruction in civilian areas resulting in many families fleeing to Armenia. Many of them have found shelter in the town of Dilijan, where even after the war many of them cannot go back to their homes because some of them are in areas now under Azerbaijani occupation or were destroyed during this horrible war.
Most of these refugees are children who are experiencing the traumas associated with this war. In this special time of the year, we ask you to help these children by helping us to buy things they need to continue attending school after being displaced. This includes warm clothes and shoes as well as devices to make it possible for them to participate in online schooling because of COVID-19 restrictions.
We are a group of people who have worked with displaced families during the recent war in Artsakh. In providing support for these families, we have been working together with the Dilijan City Council, Dilijan Community Centre and local Red Cross representatives. To ensure transparency of the fundraising, after every purchase we will upload payment check and beneficiary’s names.
