Hammerspace Gallery redefines the traditional art space by bringing contemporary exhibitions into a residential garage. We are committed to cultivating the evolution of Grand Rapids' contemporary art ecosystem, reimagining the systems that often separate art from the community.

Our gallery provides a platform for multidisciplinary, installation, and conceptual art. We offer year long mentorship to 6 artists through our Artist Cohort, curated exhibition opportunities to Michigan artists, and a community-driven network to support emerging and mid-career artists.

We believe artists and arts administrators should be paid for their time and contributions to the community at large. Your donation covers our low operational costs, helps support Hammerspace staff and offers us the ability to create paid opportunities for artists. Private donations are the backbone of not for profit art organizations. Donations do not need to be large to make a difference. Give what you can and help ensure growth and support of local artists.
