After nine wonderful years of collaborating and making art alongside one another in our space in Downtown SLC, we are moving our studios to South Salt Lake City. While rising rent prices in Downtown Salt Lake are mainly behind this push, we have realized it’s time for us to expand our studio space physically and simultaneously engage our community in more art programming.

We are thrilled to call South Salt Lake our new home and are excited about the addition of an exhibition space conjoined with our studios, which we plan to program—showing work from local, regional and national artists that we love and want to provide a platform to. We're calling our new space Material | Contemporary. Alongside public exhibitions, we want our new home to be a hub for the art community in South Salt Lake—we plan on hosting regular, community-minded events.

In the spirit of the communal existence, we so deeply believe in, we are reaching out for your support and involvement in our next endeavor. This move comes at a very high price—and as most folks know, the arts can be a challenging business to be in financially. Can you help us get up and running? Your donation ensures an invitation to our opening celebration, as well as an entry into an opportunity drawing to receive one of two collaborative artworks made by us in 2022. Your donation will also help us keep our overhead low so we can pay artists more than the industry standard commission for the sales of their work.

Our plans are ambitious, and we are determined and inspired by the prospect of remaking our studios and modeling a new community art space. With decades of experience in studio arts, curatorial programming, and nine years of cohabitation in studio spaces together, we can’t wait for what the coming years have in store given these new walls.
