Help Me Keep Creating: A Bridge from Grief to Growth
My name is David Gomez. I’m a visual artist, a father, and a recent widower. This past year has brought heartbreak, loss, and deep transformation. After walking through the hardest season of my life as a full-time caregiver for my late wife Angie, I am now beginning the long, tender process of rebuilding—both personally and professionally.
As I emerge from grief, I am returning to my work as an artist—not just to survive, but to grow, to create, and to give something meaningful back to the world. I have several projects in motion and a solo show opening July 31st. I’ve also started writing again, and I’m preparing to begin showing my work in a gallery for the first time in years.
But before any of that can fully take shape, I need help getting through the next 2 to 4 months. Summer is always a lean season for artists, and this year I’m rebuilding from the ground up. I’m asking for $20,000 to cover my basic living and studio expenses so I can focus on making and sharing work that matters.
This isn’t just about me. My vision includes others—other artists, other caregivers, others in need of hope and beauty. I plan to use this space not only to fund my art practice, but to help others down the road as well. Every gift received now will make a real impact in getting me to that next stage—and every gift will be honored.
To say thank you:
I’ve got something good to share. My art, my story, and a vision that’s bigger than just me. I just need a little help right now to get there.
With all my gratitude,
David Gomez
