Help Artist Akbar Recover After Losing His Eye

Hello everyone,

My name is Shannon, and I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my dear friend Akbar. Akbar is an incredibly talented and awarded tattoo and freelance artist who has always poured his heart and soul into his work. He has been an artist his whole life, starting from the age of two until now. Unfortunately, Akbar recently experienced a horrific and senseless act of violence that has left him with life-altering injuries.

Just a few weeks ago, while walking home from the park, Akbar was brutally attacked by assailants in a robbery attempt. In the midst of the attack, he sustained severe injuries to his face, resulting in the loss of his dominant eye and partial vision in the other. The physical pain is only one aspect of his suffering; the emotional toll has been devastating.

Ak’s passion for art has always been his driving force, but now, he’s facing an uncertain future. As an artist, his vision is everything to him, and losing one eye has not only impacted his ability to create but also to provide for himself and family. Akbar’s whole life has changed from this attack. He now has to wear a strong prescription and learn to balance while walking. Everyday now he has to take eye drops and medication for pain, while waiting for an upcoming surgery to remove his eye.

Despite this unimaginable setback, Akbar remains determined to continue pursuing his passion for art. He’s already begun exploring new mediums and techniques, refusing to let this tragedy define him. But he can’t do it alone.

That’s why we’re turning to you, our community, for support. We’re hoping to raise funds to help Akbar cover his medical expenses, including more upcoming surgeries, rehabilitation, ongoing treatment and medical care. Additionally, your contributions will assist him in accessing resources to adapt to his new reality as a one-eyed artist.
