Hi, my name is Nate and this is my cat Artie.

I never thought I would be in a position where I would be writing something like this, but I am doing it to give Artie every chance he can get.

Yesterday, Artie suddenly became very sick. After multiple visits to the veterinarian, emergency diagnostics, bloodwork, and X-rays, he was diagnosed with an intestinal foreign body causing a blockage. Without surgery, the veterinarian believes he will not recover.

I am currently a medical student living on student loans. Despite spending everything I reasonably could on emergency care, I simply cannot afford the full cost of the surgery that Artie needs. I've spent hours looking for low-cost veterinary services, assistance programs, and exhausting every option that I have, but the combined cost of the diagnostics and emergency surgery is far more than I can manage on my own.

Artie is only one year old. He is the sweetest, funniest cat in the world. His biggest passions in life are eating and making biscuits on my face at three o'clock in the morning. He has helped me through some very difficult times in my life, and I want to do everything I can to give him the best chance of coming home healthy.

If you are able to contribute, no matter the amount, it will go directly toward Artie's surgery and medical care. If you are not in a position to be able to donate, I completely understand and I would be incredibly grateful if you would simply share this fundraiser with others.

My goal reflects the current estimated total of Artie's emergency diagnostics and surgery. If his final expenses are lower than expected, any remaining funds will be donated to help other pets receive emergency care as well.
