Help Artie and Jack After Big Dog Attack
Donation protected

It was a match made in Colonel Potter Cairn Rescue heaven when Artie adopted Jack into his Forever Home. Artie walks him every day to a very small neighborhood park just a short distance from her home. There are only a few neighbors there with their small dogs, or sometimes no one. Artie always has Jack on his leash of course, and he has become her life. Yesterday she went there and someone drove up and let their BIG dog out. The dog headed straight to Jack and attacked him. A young man helped Artie get Jack away from the big dog, but Jack sustained a lot of wounds and a dislocated hip. Artie also was hurt and was bleeding from wounds to her hand and arm. The owner of the big dog got him into her car and took off without saying anything. Artie refused to do anything about herself until she got Jack to the nearby veterinarian. The vet believes he will be ok, but it will take a long while. They will wait on the hip until the wounds heal (he has four drainage tubes). Artie's hand is pretty bad. She will need a series of shots, and should have had care earlier. Artie's friends, Vickie and George will try to help during the recovery periods for both of them, but prayers and good thoughts would be appreciated. Animal Control will monitor the area in case the big dog is dropped off there again, but no one in the area had ever seen it before.
Both Artie and Jack will have substantial medical bills. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
