Arthur was born on January 15, 2026, and just a week later, on January 22, he had to be admitted to the NICU for severe jaundice. His bilirubin levels were extremely high, and while in the hospital, he was also diagnosed with E. coli and a UTI. These first days of life have been incredibly difficult for Arthur and for our family, as we watch him fight through so much at such a young age.

The hospital where Arthur is being treated is far from our home. My husband, who is our sole provider, doesn't have the money to drive back and forth to work, and I need him here to help care for our daughter and to get me to the NICU with milk for Arthur. Our rent is coming up in a couple of weeks, and with my husband already missing one week of work and now a second, we are worried we won't be able to pay it. We are grateful to be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House near the hospital, which helps us save on hotel costs, but the financial strain is still overwhelming.
