My name is Arthur, and I am a 74-year-old disabled Vietnam era veteran living alone. I have no family nearby, and my only income is a fixed retirement benefit. Over the years, I have developed several major health issues, and as I get older, it’s become harder to do the things I used to do for myself. Despite these challenges, I have always believed in helping others whenever I can.
One of the ways I give back is by preparing meals and delivering them to people in my community who are homeless or hungry. As a retired chef, I use a portion of my monthly SNAP benefits to buy food, cook it, and share it with those in need. My dream is to one day have access to more resources so I can feed even more people. Unfortunately, my only car—a 2006 BMW 325i with over 240,000 miles—is currently in the shop, and I don’t have the funds to get it out or make the additional repairs it needs. Without my car, I can’t get around or continue my weekly meal deliveries, and those who depend on me are missing out.
I am reaching out for help so I can get my car back on the road, regain my independence, and continue serving my community. Any support you can offer will make a real difference in my life and in the lives of those I help. Thank you for considering my fundraiser and for your kindness and generosity.
