Hey everyone! My name is Artemis Arthur! I’m a singer and performer living in Nevada City, California.

OK, music fam. I am humbly asking for your help in making my first full-length studio album!

Just a little backstory…

Music has been my life… my WHOLE life. Before performing in a band myself, I was the Superfan. I had to know the bands origins and influences, names and locations. I was obsessed with all of the details, but was also convinced that a life in music wasn’t really in the cards for me, so I was content to listen intently. I don’t read notes, know a couple chords on the guitar, and have never been formally trained. I did sing in a church choir growing up, though, which planted the seed early on.

That changed in 2011, when upon moving to Brooklyn for a career in Editorial Photography, I dropped everything to join a BAND. Since then, nothing has been the same. I was the vocalist for a band called The Eggs, surrounded by classically trained musicians and friends who pushed me and showed me the true magic music is really capable of. It was also at this time that I self-produced and released my first (and only) collection of original music, the Former Self EP. (https://thesuitor.bandcamp.com/)

Upon returning to California, I sharpened my performance and stage presence through street performing, something I got into out of pure need, but ended up becoming obsessed with interacting with the public, and creating an INSTANT connection with strangers, and other musicians alike. I traveled from San Diego to Hollywood, singing for the public. No venues, no gigs.

I learned to project my voice and use natural structures to magnify my sound… pretty much all by accident. Music was constantly revealing pure beauty and magic to me. I was, and remain, devoted.

Fast forward to today… I have been blessed enough to have spent the last 5 years here in Nevada City, CA. This place doesn’t just have a legacy of gold in the mineral sense. This place puts Hollywood to shame with the musical talent and heavyweights hiding up in these trees. It’s a great place to create without the unbearable stress of the city.

I have spent the last 3 years playing covers with the incredible musicians in this town… but the time has come to release my first full-length album of original music.

The Album is called The Unraveling, and I am aiming for a February 2025 release.

The album has been gestating for almost a decade… hindered almost entirely by just not having the equipment to record and self-produce the finished product. The songs are READY. And this is where you come in, dear donors!

I am asking for your help in securing funds for recording and production equipment, final album mastering, and merch. My minimum goal is $5000. Any funds received over the goal (!) will go towards a new music video + those production costs. Donate $250 or more, and I’ll thank you in the music video credits!

I do ALL music recording and production myself. But I have been lucky enough to meet professionals locally, and WILL secure help for final album mastering.
