Artemio and his family were displaced from their home in the middle of the night on February 2, 2026 when a raging 4-alarm fire broke out, bringing over 200 firefighters and EMTs to the Grand Concourse in the Bronx.
We are asking for his friends and customers to give whatever they can to help him and his family get back on their feet. They had to leave their home immediately, leaving behind most of their things, with no idea when they'll be able to return, if at all.
Artemio's son Jeremy (age 8) is autistic, so this trauma and major interruption in his routines has been extremely hard on him and the family. Anything you can donate to help this family in need will be greatly appreciated. We're working with his local electeds to find out about additional resources.
Drop by ¡Ay Güey! to show your support. It's located at 30-86 51st Street, on the border of Astoria Heights and Woodside. Artemio makes the best margaritas in all of NYC and the food is delicious.
