Help Rebuild Art Weber's Greenhouse at Woodbrier Nursery After Devastating Fire
(Every dollar goes toward rebuilding his greenhouse and produce production —equipment, seeds, tools, soil, and plant replacements.)
* He would like to offer produce packages for any donation received.
If you know my dad, he has the strongest work ethic, yet some of the worst luck, but is always kind and generous. He’s been growing some of the best plants in the area for decades. Back in the day, it was poinsettias, bedding plants, and mums—he ran a full garden center as Weber’s Woodbrier Nursery but a few set backs reduced his operation to just himself and his passion for growing - leading to growing thousands of fresh tomatoes.
So the past few years, it's been all about tomatoes, peppers, and produce. This year, he already had 10,000 sweet corn seedlings growing strong, prepped to plant at a farm he works with next week, as well as a greenhouse full of tomatoes and pepper plants. A lot of you have tasted his tomatoes—you know how good they are.
But the morning of Wednesday, April 9th, another setback. A fire wiped out his main building which included all his equipment, tools, pots, soil, seeds, and many of the corn plants, along with his heating system for the greenhouses. This is the building where he also hand makes his famous Christmas wreaths - his wreath making table and press he had for 50+ years was also lost.
And yet he just said, “I’ll start over.”
That’s who he is. Relentless. Humble. Hardcore.
Let’s help him rebuild.
