Hi, my name is Arturo but most of you know me as "Art". This past week just before Thanksgiving break my cars transmission failed without warning and just outside the 50k mile / 4 year factory warranty window. I took the car in for diagnosis at the dealership and confirmed the transmission needs to be replaced. After a week of exhausting all my options, tapping into the limited savings I have post covid and reaching out to family for help with the repair costs. I have managed to gather $3,000 of the roughly $5000 I need for repairs. I use my vehicle daily to commute to 1909 and pick up and drop off my twin boys from school, tennis lessons and other activities, along with all other responsibilities of being a single father. Covid impacted my income severely (as it did for many of us) and I've worked really hard to get through that get back to a stable point financially however this is a huge setback and I was just not prepared for it. Especially now right after Nov and going into Dec, two months which have historically been lower income months for my Product Design work. I'm in a tough spot.

 

I'm not one to ask for help like this and I pride myself on being resilient and resourceful in the face of life's obstacles but for the first time ever I'm just out of options and frankly time, and need to reach out to my 1909 friends and community for help. I'm extremely grateful and appreciative for any amount you are willing to give to help me out.
