Help ARRF with Attorney Fees
Please join me in helping to raise money for attorney fees for the ongoing battle that ARRF is having with Tate, Co. They did have an attorney but he has moved on to another group of attorneys and can no longer help with the case.
For about four years that have been battling with Tate, Co. over having the rescue there. They have done everything that the county has asked and still they are being sued. Even moving the rescue to Tunica, Co. where they were accepted with open arms.
They have told her to come and make them an offer to make it go away, well that is not going to happen because ARRF has not done anything wrong.
So, please help me in support them by donating to this fund to raise money for a new attorney.
Thanks,
Lisa Hall-Hayes
Thank you Jane Ashe for letting me borrow your amazing words.
Pat Hissong is one of the most devoted dog lovers, advocates and rescuers that i know. She works in the south, otherwise known as Hell to folks in rescue. We know about grits and greens, opening the door for little old ladies, sweet tea, yes ma’am and bless your heart, but when it comes to animals, we haven’t got it figured out yet. It’s a combination of indifference (on the part of politicians and law enforcement), ignorance (it was good enough for grandpa so it’s good enough for me), and poverty (people dump dogs on me all the time and i can’t afford to get ‘em fixed, i barely got money to feed my kids).
I work with a rescue up north, and oftentimes folks ask, why do we send so many dogs up north. What’s different? EVERYTHING! They have laws that they uphold, and if folks don’t house and care for their animals properly, they’re held accountable. Down here, there are roads i don’t drive down, because i know i can’t change anything and i don’t want to see it.
Pat drives down those roads and she does make a difference. I’ve included a few pictures of animals she’s helped that i know about personally, and I’m asking you to look at them and consider making a donation to her cause. The political machine in Tate County has a vendetta against Pat and her rescue, basically because she’s doing something they don’t like - rescuing animals.
They’ve already run her off her property, and now they’re trying to get a big fine out of her that she can’t afford. She has to hire a lawyer to fight it, and who knows how it will turn out. Right now, she’s asking for donations for attorney fees.
Pat posted a video on her page that you can watch. I watched it and it made me sick. I get that everyone doesn’t value everyone else’s cause equally, but it’s so embarrassing how backward we are down here when it comes to animals. Southern politicians are stuck in the past when it comes to animals, and that’s a very sad thing for us trying to make a difference.
Please help Pat and her rescue ARRF continue to do the amazing things she does with the abused, neglected, and forgotten animals in the Midsouth.
