Help Aros Heal

Donation protected
Aros is a City of Escondido Police Service Dog. On December 9, 2021, in the service of his community, Aros was deployed to locate a person hiding in a garage.

During the course of his duties, Aros was stabbed 27 times and sustained career or near career ending injuries. It was later determined the hiding person had stabbed a neighbor in the stomach and hit him with a baseball bat. Aros sustained the most vicious of lacerations to his face. He may or may not be able to return to service.

Police service animals serve their communities in a number of ways, by searching for missing persons, finding crime scene evidence, searching for explosives, locating drugs and helping to apprehend persons when the situation dictates it would be too dangerous for a human officer to effect an arrest.

Aros is in a state of healing and will continue this long process over a series of months. All donations will be given directly to the City of Escondido Police K9 Coordinator for the purchase of a new Police Service Animal.

Bless you for your generosity and thank you all for your service to your community.
