Help Arnim Wood Heal After Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Hello my name is Paige Mitchell. On June 25th at around 11 P.M, my dad, Arnim Wood a.k.a Julio, experienced a horrible headache in the bathroom at home. The headache was so bad he collapsed and hit his head so hard on the bathroom door, that the glass on the opposite side of the door broke from the bang he took to the head. (Picture is provided of the glass) 911 was immediately called. When the paramedics arrived, my dad was on the floor and incoherent and belligerent and was trying to fight off the paramedics and said he had a bad nightmare when he took the tumble. At hospital, after a bunch of tests and scans were done, it was discovered that he suffered from 2 subarachnoid hemorrhages that ruptured causing stroke and bleeding in the brain. Within a few hours, the doctors performed brain surgery. Thankfully the surgery was successful. They were able to fix the hemorrhages and stop the bleeding but he still has a long road of recovery ahead of him. It is truly a miracle that we brought him here as quick as we did because, god forbid he was sleeping or driving, we wouldn’t have been so lucky. He’s currently in the icu in mount sinai hospital on a 2 week anti seizure/stroke medication because it is very crucial for his recovery that the bleed does not return and his blood pressure stays normal. He’s very weak and constantly has terrible headaches, which is normal and expected after serious brain surgery. But we are all closely monitoring him. Everyone that knows my family and I, knows my dad is the most hardworking man in the world. Not a day goes by that we don’t thank god everyday for him. He’s the best dad in the world and I’m so blessed he’s getting better and stronger everyday. But let me say, this is not easy at all. My family and I are all struggling because we just want him to be good and come home. We are asking, please, for your prayers for him to have a full recovery and get better. And if anyone would like to donate to my family and I that would be amazing and we would be so grateful because we all know how expensive medical bills are. Also my parents are older and I wish I didn’t live in a world where them or any older folk had to work but that’s the economy we live in and it sucks. So between medical bills, other bills and rent, anything is appreciated. Thank you for your prayers and taking the time to read this. God bless you all!
