Our family is reaching out for help during one of the most heartbreaking and frightening times our family has ever faced.

My son Armando, his wife Iliana, and their 2-year-old son Jude have been on an unimaginable journey trying to save their baby girls.

What began with the incredible news that Armando and Iliana were expecting triplets soon became a complicated and high-risk pregnancy. Early on, they experienced the loss of one baby through a vanishing twin, leaving their identical twin girls, Siomara and Seleste, growing together.

Later, Siomara and Seleste were diagnosed with Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), a serious complication that can happen when identical twins share a placenta and their blood flow becomes dangerously unbalanced.

From that moment, their lives completely changed.

Armando, Iliana, and little Jude began making trips to San Francisco every week for specialized medical care. Their weeks have been filled with procedures, MRIs, ultrasounds, monitoring, appointments, long drives, and the constant fear of what the next test might show.

They did everything they possibly could to fight for both of their daughters.

Tragically, despite every effort, they lost their precious daughter Seleste.

Their hearts were shattered, but they haven’t even had the opportunity to fully grieve their baby girl because the fight to save Siomara has continued.

Through all of this, they have also been trying to keep life as normal as possible for their 2-year-old son, Jude. He has been right there through the traveling, long appointments, uncertainty, and time away from home.

Because of the constant travel to San Francisco and the amount of time Armando has needed to be there for his wife and children, Armando lost his job. The financial strain has become overwhelming, but his family has needed him by their side.

And now they are facing another frightening emergency.

Iliana is currently 28 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and doctors are extremely concerned about Siomara’s blood supply. They have been told that Siomara needs a fetal blood transfusion, and Iliana has received steroid injections to help mature Siomara’s lungs in case she needs to be born early.

They have now been told that an emergency C-section may be necessary to save Siomara.

They don’t know what the next few hours or days will bring.

Armando and Iliana began this pregnancy expecting three babies. They have already experienced the unimaginable loss of two of their children, and now they are desperately praying and fighting for their surviving daughter.

As Armando’s mom and the grandmother of these precious babies, it is incredibly painful to watch my children carry so much grief, fear, and financial stress at the same time.

Right now, they shouldn’t have to worry about how they are going to pay their bills, buy groceries, put gas in their car, travel back and forth for medical care, or survive without Armando’s income. Their focus needs to be on Siomara, Jude, and keeping their family together.

We are asking for help with lost income, household bills, groceries, gas and transportation, expenses for Jude, continued medical travel, and the many unexpected costs they may face if Siomara is delivered prematurely and requires a lengthy NICU stay.

Most importantly, we want Armando and Iliana to be able to stay beside their daughter without having to choose between being there for their baby and financially supporting their family.

If you are able to donate, no amount is too small. Every dollar will help take a little weight off their shoulders.

If you aren’t able to donate, please share their story and keep Armando, Iliana, Jude, baby Siomara, and our beautiful angel Seleste in your thoughts and prayers.

We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. We are holding onto hope, taking things one moment at a time, and praying that Siomara continues fighting so that one day Armando and Iliana can finally bring their baby girl home to her big brother Jude.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every donation, share, prayer, message, and act of kindness during this incredibly difficult time.

Keep fighting, Siomara. Mommy, Daddy, big brother Jude, and your entire family are fighting right alongside you.

In loving memory of Seleste, forever loved and forever a part of our family.
