Help Arlo See the World Around Him
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Penny and the very proud owner of 3 adopted fur-babies - we all love pets, right? One dog is 17 years old now, and one has just had surgery for Mass Cell Tumours. But great, all is well.
However, my last adopted boy, Arlo, has cataracts. He has been with me for about 3 months. He is 6 years old and had them since he was 2 - when it would have been so much easier on him had he had them done then. However, I knew this when I took him on and love him to pieces - he's a real scruff-bucket.
A previous vet told me his cataracts are so far advanced he barely has 10% vision, and nothing could be done until glaucoma set in and then could be operated on and, basically, his eyes removed (no timescale).
But, I was today informed that his cataracts CAN be operated on, now, and some of his sight restored with said operation. This will also save the further loss of the little sight he has and the ensuing pain that operating with glaucoma would bring.
All good and hopeful for Arlo to have a full and seeing life. Because this is so important I need to raise funds as the operation costs minimum Unilateral (£4000) or Bilateral (£5000) . However, Arlo deserves this and so much more. He is an amazing boy - very confident .. and stubborn .. despite his limited vision and all it entails.
I want to give Arlo the best chance of a good life, to actually see the world around him for, hopefully, the many years he has left.
I would appreciate any donation to help towards this goal and a better life for Arlo
