Help Arlo Recover from Emergency Surgery
Donation protected
Hello all, this isn’t easy to do but we need help. Our sweet boy Arlo had a horrible last few days and ended up needing emergency surgery to clear an obstruction in his intestines.
You always hear the horror stories and never think it’ll happen to you..
Over the weekend we went camping with our pups and everything went well. They got to swim and hike and just be happy healthy dogs.
Sunday night when we returned Arlo got very sick.. we assumed it was maybe because he had a marshmallow or hotdog and the long drive mixed with exhausted got to his tummy.
Monday morning I stayed home because he was sick again in the morning and throughout the day he continued to get sick and not able to poop.
He couldn’t even keep water down and was getting extremely weak. He began to throw up more to the point it was just yellow bile….
We took him to the emergency vet and X-rays found an obstruction in his intestines.
They told us they’ll keep him overnight with fluids and anti nausea medications in hope it’ll pass on its own… it did not.
3 hours after we left we get a call from our vet saying they need to go in and do emergency surgery, his health is declining fast and he can’t even stand or keep his head up…
We’re so blessed to say surgery went well and they were able to remove the obstruction.
His stomach was completely sucked in, his intestines bruised and swollen… if they didn’t go in when they did, he wouldn’t have made it.
Hearing that completely shatters your heart.
He was our happy healthy boy 48 hours ago.
Please PLEASE be mindful when your dogs have toys and they’re powerful chewers.
We get our pups all sorts of “power chewer” toys but they still are able to break them apart. We do so well keeping an eye on them and taking them away when it gets torn apart.. it only takes one small piece you don’t see to land your pup in the hospital…
With this being emergency surgery.. we were unfortunately unprepared financially and are reaching out to anybody willing to donate or help.. this has been the most stressful 24 hours and it’s all just so scary and overwhelming….
Thank you so much and please keep an eye on your babies and hug them extra tight.. things can turn at an instant. ❤️
Please, anything and everything would help.
total bills now $5,000 and rising.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
