Help Arlene Fight Her Cancer!

Hello Everyone, this has to be the hardest thing I have ever done. Not just the cancer diagnosis, but asking for help. In May I went in for a routine mammogram which led me to a diagnostic imaging and ultrasound, two different biopsies and a very scary diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma. I was told it was ( Er+ PR+ Her- and Kp67 is 27% . I was told it was early and I was sent for genetic testing and then a surgery plan was made to do a lumpectomy on the mass and have sentinel lymph node removed for testing. The makeup of the tumor was nuclear grade 3 and after undergoing further testing my treatment plan was upgraded to include Chemotherapy 12weeks, Radiation 4-6 weeks then endocrine therapy for the next 5 years, in that order. The tumor was aggressive and had already grown 3 millimeters by the time they took it out.

My need situation has resulted by not only my current situation, but a series of them . My now 25-year-old son who was in his last year of collage, came home in 2019 to take a year off to help us out. He took a job with Amazon. In December 2020 my son had a sudden Myocardial Infraction N-stemi (Heart Attack). This came on by a sudden full body dump of potassium. Over the next two months he spent 25 days in the hospital with them trying to get and keep his potassium up and keep his liver and kidney from shutting down. He has been steadily improving and he has been under care and without work ever since. He is estimated to go back to work in a few months with some restrictions. This has been a terrifying experience for me. Of course, I had at that point used all my carryover Paid Time off and had to take additional time off for his multiple specialist appointments. In the meantime, I was exhausted at work and trying to make a comeback mentally and physically from this incident at the beginning of the year when I did the above mentioned mammogram and the struggles continued.

I know the chemo and radiation will also take its toll on me and I will need to take some time off not just for the procedures but when I am sick from the treatments. Not to mention the ongoing costs.

Every bit of help I can get no matter how large or small would be another blessing in my life. Yes, I did say blessing because my son is alive, my cancer was caught . I try to recognize the good even though I feel like my life has been turned upside down.

I am hoping to raise money for is to help with my medical costs and lost wages due to the unforeseen situations. and stop the financial downfall my family enduring.

Expenses include high medical deductibles, copays, percentages not paid in full by  insurance. Uncovered medical items and  prescriptions. Fuel to and from the multiple weekly appointments. Lost work hours for chemo and radiation treatments, recovery and appointments.

I understand not everyone is in a situation where they can help . I also have an amazon registry if you wish to look at that instead please message me and I will send you the link.

If I happen to exceed my goal with the different avenues I am sending this, I will make a donation to the American Cancer Society. thank you for reading this and considering helping in any way possible.
