My name is Arin, and I am currently experiencing homelessness in Indio. Every day, I work hard just to afford a motel room so I don’t have to sleep outside under the bridge. This daily struggle has made it impossible to save for anything beyond basic survival, even though I am determined to get back on my feet and start working again.
Last year, I lost my beloved BMW, Evan, when it was taken from me and towed. Losing Evan made everything even harder, taking away my independence and making it feel impossible to move forward. Since then, I’ve felt stuck, trying to find a way to regain some stability and hope.
I am also a survivor of domestic violence, and I am working hard to become more independent and not rely on toxic things while out in the streets. I’ve been staying in a motel with another female friend who is also homeless, along with her dog Oso, while her husband is in jail. We support each other through these tough times, sharing what little we have and trying to keep hope alive.
One of the biggest barriers I face is reliable transportation. Without a way to get around, it’s incredibly difficult to reach job interviews, work opportunities, and essential resources. That’s why I am asking for help to purchase an electric bike. With the CV Link in our community, having an electric bike would give me safe and dependable access to the places I need to go, opening up new possibilities for employment and stability.
I am deeply grateful for any support you can give—whether it’s a donation, a share, or a kind word. Your help brings me hope for a better future, and I truly appreciate every gesture of kindness. Thank you for helping me take this important step forward.
