Hi everyone, my name is Marissa Santos. I live in Douglassville, PA, but I was born and raised in San Fernando, Pampanga in the Philippines. I am fundraising for my cousin Ariel Manarang Dayrit, who lives in the Philippines with his wife and 5 children. At only 41 years old, Ariel suffered from a cerebrovascular accident or stroke on December 29, 2021. An emergency craniotomy had to be performed to stop the bleeding from his brain and a tracheotomy was done so he could breath adequately during the procedure. He spent several days in the intensive care unit (ICU) and he is still in the hospital, but his recovery will take a very long time. The medical expenses have substantially added up.

Ariel is the breadwinner of his family. He is responsible for taking care and feeding his family. As a farmer, he has no health insurance and primary care to prevent this stroke was not affordable. After losing both of his parents in the last year, there is no money left to pay off the medical care that saved his life.

My goal is to raise $5,000 USD to help my family who lives across the world. This amount is equivalent to almost 300,000 Philippines pesos.
