Help Ariel Recover from Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ariel. I am a 24-year-old who just had brain surgery and may need another one.
So, back in January, I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (that just means they can’t figure out why the fluid surrounding my brain builds up and causes pressure on my nerves). I would receive lumbar punctures to relieve the pressure, and I would feel better. But sometime during Memorial Day, I went and had one done and felt worse ever since they did it. After going to the ER 5 times and being constantly told nothing is wrong and they can’t do another lumbar puncture because I just had one, I went to a different ER where they told me I had a huge blood clot in my brain and I needed surgery immediately. So, I had to get a stent placed in my head. After surgery, I noticed that my right eye was very blurry, and I couldn’t see out of it. After days of testing with neuro-ophthalmology, they realized they should’ve placed a shunt instead of the stent. So after finding this out they told me I may need to have another surgery where they actually cut open my skull, I’m also on blood thinners which puts me at high risk for any surgery which I am not to fond of. So, I’ve been out of work since May and still don’t know when I’m supposed to return to work. I don’t qualify for unemployment at the moment. I just want to raise $3,000. I’m currently behind on bills and just want to get caught up. Even if I can just raise $950 so I don’t lose my apartment.
I appreciate everyone in advance. Thank you for all your help and support.
