Help Ariel McGuire Overcome Endometriosis
Donation protected
Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my GoFundMe page!
My name is Ariel McGuire and I was diagnosed with Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis in January of 2024. Endometriosis is a chronic disease found in 10% of women where cells similar to those found in the uterus grow elsewhere, causing painful and inflamed lesions and sometimes even large growths (cysts). With my specific diagnosis, I unfortunately have lesions throughout my entire pelvic floor, causing my pelvic organs to be glued together and essentially frozen. I also have developed cysts the size of softballs which contribute to daily pain, mobility issues, and make going to college and work difficult.
This diagnosis led to a year-long journey of MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, and treatment plans in order to manage the pain that comes with endometriosis. However, with the extent of the growths within my pelvis, my medical team believes it would be wise to surgically remove the lesions and cysts which could grow even bigger with time.
Although this has been a long time coming, the date of my surgery, February 7th, is unfortunate as my insurance deductible has reset for the new year and I will need to pay the almost $7,000 (or more) hospital bill out of pocket. I hope to be able to raise enough money to pay my out-of-pocket portion as well as the pre-op and post-op care that I will need to receive before and after the surgery.
Your donation will not only allow me to get this laparoscopic surgery and regain mobility in my pelvis, your donation will allow me to regain the independence and freedom that endometriosis has taken from me over the years.
Although my journey will need to continue after this surgery, this procedure will be a fresh start to my diagnosis and allow me to prevent growths in the future.
Thank you for your consideration, and if you are unable to give at this time, I encourage you to share this page with others to spread the word.
Stay safe,
Ariel.
