Hi everyone!
Our names are Ariel and Corra, and we're a queer neurodivergent couple living in central Iowa.
Recently, Ariel has been diagnosed with a severe chronic condition, making it very difficult for her to find work.
Corra has had her hours fluctuate greatly since starting her new position at Casey's in November.
For these reasons, and more, we have been struggling to make ends meet and are unable to pay necessary bills, such as electricity and rent.
Today, after being ghosted by a potential employer that she was supposed to interview for, we received two things in the mail.
One - a disconnect notice from our electric company, giving us one week to pay our balance before they cut us off.
Two - a three-day notice to pay rent or face eviction from our apartment complex. We have not been late on our rent in well over a year, and this is our first month being late (meaning that only the month of January is due).
These, as well as other bills that still need to be paid, are why I'm reaching out for help. We are at extreme risk of homelessness if we cannot pay rent by January 10th.

Hi! This is Corra speaking, with a small update. We have not only met our needs with the *extreme* generosity displayed by friends, found family, and complete and utter strangers. The love and support we have felt through this has been ASTRONOMICAL and it's been 24 hours! Thank you, thank you, a thousand times, thank you, because this amount has ensured that we not only will be able to pay our rent and bills, but will also help ensure future financial stability, and potentially? The ability to work for ourselves instead of an employer. We both have dreams of starting our own businesses so we can rely on ourselves and stand on our own two feet. It sincerely feels like this is the opportunity we've been waiting for life to give us, and thank the universe for providing you all. You're beautiful and wonderful people and are just as deserving of these same blessings. May the powers that be reciprocate that energy, and return it to you tenfold. Any further donations at this point will go into an emergency fund to ensure a crisis like this will threaten our safety and security ever again.
