Help Aria Fight Leukemia

Donation protected
Aria Deskins was diagnosed with Leukemia on June 1st at just 17 months old.

After a few weeks of misdiagnosis and treating symptoms with antibiotics and Tylenol, her parents Ashley and Jason advocated for bloodwork due to unexplained bruising, a persistent runny nose, off and on fevers, and a rash. After a family vacation around Memorial Day, Aria had some tests run where it confirmed her blood cells were so low they didn’t feel comfortable for Aria to even travel in a car in fear that in an instance where her blood would need to clot, it wouldn’t.

Aria’s parents were able to get her transported to VCU where the workups began. By June 1st, Ashley and Jason’s worst fear came true when they came in and diagnosed their miracle baby with Leukemia. The team at VCU immediately did surgery to get her port in, perform a lumbar puncture to start chemo, and do a bone marrow biopsy to determine the specific type of leukemia.

A few days later, she got an E. Coli infection and had to keep her port accessed and have IV antibiotics. After that, she had surgery to have her port removed and a picc line placed. She now has to go 2 times a week where she has her wound cleaned and new bandages placed on the hole where the port was removed as well as to have the bandage around her picc line changed- all while still having to do chemo. She is on so many drugs at once and the steroids make her so upset and angry as well as bloated.

Aria has been put under 4 times in just one month. She is brave, resilient, and her strength is unmatched.

Our family is creating this on behalf of Aria and her parents Jason and Ashley Deskins. They are expecting their second baby in August and providing incredible care and support for their daughter throughout this process while also trying to prepare for the arrival of their son. We pray any donation can be a financial blessing to them during this time so they can focus on their babies and each other and use it however they see fit.

We are trusting in God’s goodness. He is
Jehovah-Rapha (God who heals) and we know He is completely covering this family. We thank you for your donation and of course your continued prayers for this beautiful family.
