Help Ari create IN TENSION: A Unique Student Film

I’m Ari Ogden, and I am a visual artist and filmmaker currently studying Film and TV at NYU Tisch. “IN TENSION” is an experimental student film that explores internal turmoil, the battle of self-hatred, and masculinity manifested through a physical fight. The greatest battle is often the one within ourselves, at some point in one’s life everyone has felt self-doubt, lack of self-confidence, and struggled with internal turmoil, or their mental health, or simply had negative thoughts regarding themselves. That’s human. That’s what this film aims to highlight. This story follows one character in a boxing match with himself, represented by twin actors, it is a battle of the mind, body, and soul. Leaning into the absurdity and abstraction of experimental artwork and filmmaking, this film aims to push creative limits and make a complex feeling/idea visually simple but powerful. “Beat the body, beat the mind, but you can never beat both as they are entwined”.
