Friends,
I’m sure we all have heard stories about how Covid has wrecked businesses, careers and even lives. Most have survived this pandemic with little damage and some are even thriving as a result of it. That is not the case for Arthur Carr, AKA Arf as we all know him. Arf was the owner of 4.0 & Go, the tutoring business he started in the 90s. Covid hit 4.0 & Go hard and was disastrous. He was forced to close the doors and resort to online teaching and though he tried to weather the storm he wasn't successful. Arf's last resort to weather the financial storm was to pull out equity from his personal house to try and make it through. The lack of cash flow caused missed payments and eventually foreclosure. Arf has one last chance to regain his house but there is a deadline of 7/14/21 to raise $30,000. My name is Gary Holub and I was the manger of 4.0 and Go from 1995 to 1998. Many of the students knew me as "the 4.0 & Go guy" from seeing me there or out on campus handing out flyers. Arf saw something in me way back in 1994 and allowed me to play a role in his business that I believe put me on a successful path I find myself on today. I am organizing an effort to get his house back through this fundraiser and securing some private financing that will give Arf a second chance to keep the place he has called home for over 25 years. If we aren't successful in getting his house back these funds will be used to help him get back on his feet and move on.
If Arf has ever given you a job or helped you through a tough class that allowed you to become the success that you are today then I ask you to help him through this tough time in any way that you can or any amount that you can. I am hoping that the network of friends, formers employees and students will prove the Aggie network is alive and well and willing to help a friend in need.
Thanks
