Help Areej and Her Family Evacuate Gaza!

Thank you for your support! I am pleased to report that Areej and her family are safely in Egypt. They were able to register and cross thanks to help from a contact but we still need to pay the fees off and clear their debt. Sadly, no one is able to leave Gaza without having to pay these extortionate fees. I am aware many families are in urgent and desperate need to leave Gaza asap, and any support is still welcome but I am likely to close this fundraiser soon as I understand the focus is on getting families out and I am aware the urgency isn’t the same now. Those that have given- you have helped a family escape and avoid further displacement and harm. Thank you! Hi, my name is Summer (resident in the UK) and I am fundraising to help my friend's sister Areej and her husband and 3 children evacuate from Gaza. The family have been living in hardship since Oct 8th and have been displaced many times.

**UPDATE**

Areej is currently 6 months pregnant and her condition is deteriorating. She has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and swelling and there are concerns for the pregnancy continuing and her own health. There are currently no facilities able to provide help as they are focused on extreme cases and emergencies. Getting her out so she can access maternal health care is needed as soon as possible.

Waseem Marwan Al- Ashi - Aged 42

Osama Waseem Al-Ashi- Aged 13

Nada Waseem Al-Ashi- Aged 10

Ezz Aldeen Waseem Al-Ashi- Aged 4

Areej and her family are currently in Rafah and have had to move locations multiple times due to the indiscriminate bombings. They have lost family members and are separated from others, unable to even see them as they remain in the Middle Area.

They were living in a minivan after their home was bombed in October and now that is also damaged and unliveable. They are sheltering in an old building and are even unable to access a tent. Areej has told us that she is just waiting to die and hopes that if that happens they can all die together. This is beyond horrific. No family should suffer in this way. The physical and mental health of the children is deteriorating.

Please help us get them out of Gaza and to safety! The process to evacuate Gaza is cumbersome and difficult, as well as expensive. It costs more than $7000 per adult and $4500 for someone under 16. This is beyond the means of most people and they need our help.

The funds from this page will go towards:

*If we are unable to evacuate the family, I will return all the funds, or upon permission use them to support the family in other ways.

Sending funds has become difficult, but we have a mechanism to support this (using contacts in Egypt) and will be transparent about how the money is spent.

The priority is to get the family to safety as they are now trapped in Rafah, where the danger has increased exponentially.
