I’m creating this fundraiser for my friend and her beautiful dog Archie, who has recently gone through a horrific accident and is now facing a long road to recovery.

Archie was involved in a freak accident when he ran straight into a goalpost. The impact was so severe that when he was rushed to the vet, they initially believed he had been hit by a car.

He suffered major trauma to his chest and spine and spent 4 days in intensive care on oxygen fighting to breathe. During that time, vets had to drain air from around his lungs twice just to keep him stable. It was an incredibly scary and emotional few days, but Archie kept fighting.

Just as everyone thought he was beginning to improve, it became clear something still wasn’t right — Archie lost the use of his back legs.

He was rushed for emergency testing and an MRI, where vets discovered he had a broken back and a fractured rib. Archie urgently needed spinal surgery involving plates and screws to give him the best possible chance of walking again.

Thankfully, with the support of family, they were able to go ahead with the surgery immediately so Archie could receive the care he desperately needed. But the costs have been enormous. Between emergency care, ICU treatment, scans, surgery, medications, and ongoing rehabilitation, Archie’s vet bills have already reached close to $30,000.

Anyone who knows Archie knows how loved he is. He’s only 7 years old, full of personality, and means absolutely everything to his family. Watching him go through this has been heartbreaking, and I wanted to help ease some of the financial pressure while Archie continues his recovery journey.
