Meet Archie. He is an adult rescue dog from Baja, Mexico whose early history is largely unknown. What is known is that he survived life on the streets, serious illness, and an extended stay in an overcrowded rescue system before finally getting the chance to come to Canada.

While in Mexico, Archie was treated for a transmissible reproductive tumour (TVT), a serious but treatable condition. Although that part of his journey is behind him, multiple untreated issues developed over time as he continued waiting for a permanent home.

When Archie finally traveled to Canada for an adoption opportunity, that placement fell through at the very last moment. He arrived without a home waiting for him, neglected/not chosen again. We stepped in and committed to giving him the stability, safety, and long-term care he has always deserved.

Archie now needs immediate and ongoing veterinary treatment for confirmed medical conditions, including:

-Severe dental disease requiring surgery and multiple extractions

-Vasculitis, a serious inflammatory condition affecting blood vessels

-Chronic skin irritation and ulceration

-Additional diagnostics, medications, and ongoing monitoring

Archie’s current treatment plan is estimated at $5,000–$7,000+, not including adoption fees, travel, or the importation and medical paperwork costs that Acre Animal Rescue has already absorbed. Any expenses beyond his immediate treatment needs will be covered by us, and we will also be making a direct donation back to Acre to help recoup the losses from the original adoption falling through.

We are fully committed to adopting Archie and giving him a permanent home.

This campaign is not about personal finances it is about ensuring the rescue centre/Archie receives the medical care he urgently needs and supporting the rescue that gave him a second chance.

Funds raised will be used for:

-Archie’s dental surgery and post-op care

-Treatment for vasculitis and related complications

-Medications, diagnostic.

-A direct donation back to Acre Animal Rescue to support dogs still in their care

Archie is gentle, intuitive, and deeply loving. After everything he has survived, he finally has a chance to heal and live the life he deserves.
