Help Archie Heal: Emergency Surgery Support
I am writing on behalf of my best friend, Chelsey Walton, who is facing an unimaginable crisis. On Saturday, November 23rd, her 1-year-old dog, Archie, was hit by a car right in front of her — a pet owner's worst nightmare.
For those who don’t know Chelsey, she’s a dedicated animal lover. She’s the type of person who will take in a stray cat during a blizzard, spends her spare time pet sitting with Rover, and is an avid foster through Nashville’s Wags & Walks animal shelter, where she met Archie. He was initially meant to be a temporary foster, but it quickly became clear that he was meant to be part of Chelsey’s forever family. They have been inseparable since she adopted him in November 2023. He is a mixed pit bull breed, but contrary to popular belief, he’s the sweetest, smartest, most lovable dog. He enjoys the finer things in life, like Starbucks pup cups and long strolls in the park.
After the accident, Archie was rushed to the ER and is currently in an oxygen chamber. He requires a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to repair his fractured femur and may need additional surgeries. The initial costs are estimated at $12,000 to $15,000, with potential expenses reaching $20,000. Chelsey has already spent thousands on emergency care, and the financial burden is overwhelming.
This holiday season, while many of us are looking forward to time with loved ones, Chelsey is canceling her plans and staying in Nashville, doing everything she can to save Archie. But she can’t do this alone — and that’s where we come in. With her permission, we’ve set up this GoFundMe to help cover Archie’s medical expenses. Every single dollar goes directly toward his care, and no donation is too small!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
