My name is Adam Pratt, and I have a lifelong love of video games. I had a dream as a kid to open my own arcade like I'd seen in the Disney movie TRON, and in 2008, I made it happen, first as the Game Grid Arcade, then we had to change our name to Arcade Galactic in 2020. We've been a small, locally & family owned business the whole time.

What makes us different is that we have been focused on pure fun & arcade gaming since our inception. That means video games & pinball(old & new) operating on tokens, and no ticket games, just like an arcade was back in 80s or 90s.

After operating at the Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City, UT for 18 years, it is time for us to find a new home.

Unfortunately at the end of 2019, a multi-million dollar entertainment facility, with an arcade and a bunch of other attractions, opened their doors in the mall. We immediately saw a drop of 25% of our revenues, then the pandemic & shut downs hit, and we've never seen our business return to those pre-2019 levels. Things have gotten worse since, as we no longer enjoy boosts from new movie releases whereas we used to; with Spider-Man: Brand New Day's record setting launch, we saw a very poor weekend. It's clear that we need to adapt by finding a better location as we cannot sustain these continued losses in this exact spot.

Our business model has legs, as people still like to have fun outside of the home with something different, it's just that we need a little distance from a competitor to make it work. This will also help us maintain jobs and expand to hire more people.

We have done some scouting on new, nearby locations, but to be able to handle all of the associated costs, we either need to sell a chunk of the arcade so large that we wouldn't have enough games to sustain the new spot, or YOU can help us reach that point, and help us build the fun facility that we have longed to do.

We do have some capital set aside for this, and are selling some of our broken/old equipment, parts and game boards, but with your help, this will allow us to reach that point much faster.

Donations will be put towards taking care of the associated costs to move - once we have enough, we will find an available venue within the local region (which might be one of those we've looked at already, if it's still available) and be able to put the down payments in, hire a lawyer for handling the contract between us and the new landlord, remodel the facility to fit with the look and needs of an arcade (including any electrical, party room build out), and then being able to rent the trucks and help to move 72 game cabinets from our present facility to the new one.

If we are able to surpass our goal, then those donations will still be put towards the facility, but it will allow us to do even more - making the space look futuristic, getting new equipment, fixing up any old equipment that needs it, etc.

As a thank you, everyone who donates will also be memorialized on a plaque at the arcade, and proof of a donation will give you a free points card (we are implementing a card system alongside tokens, so that you can do either one).
