At ARC South Goa, we are dedicated to rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating stray dogs and cats who have no one else to care for them.
Since 2005, we have been working tirelessly to provide life-saving medical care, shelter, and compassion to animals in need. However, running the center comes with significant costs, and we need your help to keep going.
Where Your Donations Go:
Every penny you donate goes directly towards keeping ARC running and providing the best care possible to the animals we rescue. Your contributions will help cover:
- Rent and Utilities: Ensuring we have a safe and secure shelter for the animals.
- Staff Salaries: Supporting our permanent staff in South Goa, who deliver daily rescue and care. Your donation goes directly towards wages for local people in India, while the center's behind-the-scenes work is run by volunteers.
- Medication and Medical Supplies: Treating illnesses, injuries, and performing life-saving interventions.
- Animal Food: Feeding the dogs and cats in our care.
- Rescue Van Petrol and Maintenance: Allowing us to collect animals in need.
- External Medical Tests: Covering costs for X-rays, blood work, and other diagnostics we cannot afford to run in-house.
Unlike large charities, every donation goes directly to the animals. Our founder, Janie, and many behind-the-scenes volunteers do not take a salary. The center costs around £2,000 a month to operate, excluding emergencies, and we rarely raise enough to meet this. Janie and other volunteers often cover the shortfall themselves.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on the generosity of our supporters. Your donations ensure we can continue to rescue and care for South Goa’s most vulnerable animals.
