Help Arby Shine After Life-Changing Surgery

Donation protected
Hey yall. Here we are… I decided that I need help with paying off Arby’s surgery…
money, as we all know is TIGHT. I’ve budgeted everything in my life down to the penny but wasn’t ready for, what ended up being a game changing surgery.

I bought Arby 4 years ago and my life was forever changed. I bought him during Covid and I wouldn’t have made it through without him. Arby is more than a horse to hop on and ride or compete for me… He is a crucial part of my mental health treatment. If you’re a horse owner, you get it. Just being in my horses presence cheers me up.

Last December I start training dressage with Martin after Angie invited me to start riding EARLY in the mornings with her. I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with dressage and Arby did too. Unfortunately, we’ve been on months long hiatus due to what I guess I have to call an injury?

About 2 months ago I noticed that when I was riding Arby, he was hyper flexing his pole (his head was really close to his neck). I few days later, I rode him and he just wasn’t having it. I thought, eh bad couple days, we will try tomorrow. Well, I got Arby tacked up that day and the saddle was on and he became EXTREMELY agitated. I put his bridle on and he became a horse I’d never seen. He actually scared me.

The next day, I called our equine dentist and they got out as soon as they could. They found he has open pulps in a few molars and after an X-ray, an abnormality about tooth 9. The vet was in shock as he had no signs of this. We booked a CT. Results came back in and the entire left side of his face in his sinuses were full of pus or fluid.

9/4: surgery day…. And we were not prepared for what was found: a HUGE CYST wrapped around a cementoma in a sinus cavity. They scoped as much pus as possible and got the cyst and cementoma out as well.

He has recovered SO WELL. The vet came yesterday and said, he’s a totally different horse than the day of surgery and he couldn’t be more right! Arby is freaking letting me BRUSH HIS FACE! And he’s enjoying it!!! I literally cried on the way home I was so happy. His quality of life has just skyrocketed.

While every cent we paid was worth it, I need help paying my amazing mom back and my credit card. He just had another check up and will have another in 2 weeks.

I know money is tight for everyone right now, but if you have just a few dollars to spare, everything will count.

Thank you ALL for the support I have received since all this started (and well before!) and tomorrow is our first lesson! I am SO happy to be getting back into working with Arby and just riding him. He is my happy place. Here’s to conquering the world!
