As some of you may know...

My name is Arati Lane and on February 10th, I am scheduled for my left hip replacement, followed by my right hip replacement on May 12th.

I have hereditary osteoarthritis and have been struggling with pain in my hips all year. Last summer, while camping in the redwoods and attending a yoga festival with family and friends, my hip gave out entirely...

I have been taking painkillers to continue my duties and my work. I had to stop all wonderful activities like dancing and walking at the beach barefoot...

As many of you may know, my worship... the ocean, I can't swim in it either; the Pacific waves are too rough.

I have been unsteady and unstable, and thanks to my decades of yoga practice and deep insights about my energy, alignment, and function... I've made it this far...

Now it's time to face it: if I don't teach, work - I don't earn money.

We live in this type of society... I am struggling to ask - ultimately - everything is energy revolving, and this is a way for me to maintain my home here in Dana Point, where I have been living for almost 10 years now.

I am a very private person. Some of you may not know that I am actually naturally introverted.

So this is out of my comfort zone for sure!

But my spiritual teacher says - out of our comfort zone is growth!

So I am getting over myself right here and doing a fundraiser to try to cover my expenses while I am undergoing a very invasive operation on both of my hips.

So I can take time off to heal.
