Help Mrs. April McBride

Donation protected

In 2016, life turned upside for former Parker JK assistant teacher Mrs. McBride. She began having blackouts, intense chest pain, nausea, and could barely get out of bed. After a year of tests, she was diagnosed  with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Unfortunately, doctors do not know what causes it and there is no cure. After trying various medications unsuccessfully for 6 months, her cardiologist turned to what he called "the last resort." Though not a cure, Northera allowed her to finally able to get out of bed and recapture some of her life, including caring for her 4 year old daughter. Sadly she recently learned that the patient assistance program for Northera lost funding and she would no longer get any financial help for the medication. The out-of-pocket cost for the medication is over $9000 a month. Her health insurance (United Health Care) denied coverage  and her doctor has not been able to think of any other options. She was simply told "they are out of options". She has only 8 days left of the medication that has allowed her to help her daughter get dressed in the morning, watch her performances at school, and just get out of bed to be part of her young daughter's and husband's lives without being afraid of blacking out. We have 8 days left to help her!

I am hoping to raise money to help Mrs. McBride pay for her medications until we can find her a more permanent solution.

It is heart breaking to think that a member of the Parker family is struggling with a medical condition and has to worry about how to get the medication that allows her to function and care for her daughter. Mrs. McBride is only 33 years old and has a 4 year old daughter that needs her. Can you imagine being in this situation?

Mrs. McBride has dealt with her health issue privately. Yesterday, we ran into her by chance and learned of her situation. We told her that she will always be a member of the Parker family and this is what family does for each other. If you can help by donating money to allow her to continue to get this life-changing medication, please contribute to her Go Fund me Page. Anything helps! And of course, if you have any advice as to how we can help her in the long term, please contact us.
