Help April, Kayla, and Henry

This is a bit overdue but THANK YOU to all of you who donated to Kayla and April last year. Since April’s diagnosis, she has been able to enjoy 16 months with Kayla and Henry and the rest of her family and friends. Your donations have sent them on weekend trips and have helped cross things off April’s bucket list, have helped Kayla take off work when needed, and have helped pay medical bills.

Unfortunately, a few months ago, others close to April began realizing her balance was off, she was having frequent seizures, and other cognitive related declines in her. April had a specialized MRI on Friday, and they found that the cancer cells have spread throughout her brain. The cancer is now in her brain stem, on the surface of her brain, and she has developed a new tumor near the area where the last one was. Nothing more can be done surgically or medically, and the doctor estimates this cancer will take April’s life in just 2 short months.

As devastating as this news is, Kayla and April still remain optimistic and hopeful, and Kayla is scrambling to schedule all the remaining items on April’s bucket list. If you can donate again or for the first time, please consider donating whatever you can to them. This is going to be a hard next two months and holiday season for them. To use Kayla’s words about April, “I’ve known she was an angel walking on this earth since the day I met her, but can’t she continue to walk this earth?” We all know April and Kayla are simply too pure and good for this world, but this battle they’ve had to face during the prime of their lives is unimaginably unfair.
