Hello!

My name is April and I am humbly asking for help and financial assistance to move me and my elderly, special needs, and also very cute dog, Ibis, into a van.

Three months ago, my life completely changed overnight. After trying to become pregnant for three years and I had just found out that I could not and while I was grieving that devastating loss my marriage unexpectedly ended. Because I had stepped away from traditional work during my marriage, as I was invited to do, suddenly I found myself without financial stability, without any savings of my own, and without secure housing.

I had been building my future in my marriage. I had moved abroad and I was trying to start a family, and suddenly, overnight, at 42 years of age, I find myself needing to start over from square one.

But I have been committed to doing the work on my soul and moving forward through this process with dignity, grace, self respect and hope. And the work is working.

However I have to leave my apartment in 10 days.

So I am asking for your help.

Here's the plan I've fallen in love with: van life.

I found a van. It's $10,000, and it's the most honest and the most freeing solution I could imagine for me and Ibis.

The plan is to learn stick shift, park somewhere beautiful with cooler air, and build a life as a digital nomad while the legal chapter of this story plays out.

And I won't just be surviving. I'll be making things. For those of you who don’t know me. I’m a multi disciplinary artist. I’m an actor, singer, dancer, songwriter, playwright, director… and this little van is going to be my cute little studio.

So the goal is that I am finding gainful employment for myself online that gives me the freedom and independence to also work on my art.

That means completing my album that I’ve been working on, booking live shows and touring my original music like I’ve always wanted to do. Taking that next step forward with my art. As well as writing the book that I’ve always wanted to write and the screenplay. I now know what to write about: surviving divorce and completely rebuilding my life at 42.

Just my dog, my dream and nowhere but forward to go.

Ibis and I just need a home on wheels to get there.

And who knows, maybe Reese Witherspoon will play me in the movie…

However everyone tells me I look like Jim Carrey… so we’ll see.
