My name is April, and I’m reaching out for support to help me secure reliable transportation and continue my mission of helping others through the Heartwarmers platform. For the past five years, I’ve been blessed to have a dependable car that gets me to church, the grocery store, and my teaching job. I drive responsibly and have never had an accident, and I’m grateful for the stability that having a vehicle has brought to my life—especially after years of being unhoused and living out of an SUV. Having a car isn’t just about convenience for me; it’s a safety net that helps me stay housed and independent.
Recently, my car’s engine failed, and repairs are costly. I have a diagnostic invoice from the shop, and replacing the engine alone will cost at least a couple thousand dollars, with additional repairs needed for the suspension and other essentials. My dream is to get a sprinter van and an E-Bike or refurbished moped scooter, so I can have sustainable, reliable transportation. If I’m able to get those, I plan to pass my old car down to my neighbors, Monica and Guy. They’re an older couple—Monica has bad knees, and Guy is a retired veteran—and having a car would make a huge difference in their lives.
This fundraiser will also help me continue building Heartwarmers, a platform I’ve spent four years creating to connect at-risk people with essential survival resources in their local area. Heartwarmers is a labor of love, built after I went back to school and learned to code. It’s close to public release and is meant to exist as a public good, not for profit. Your support will help me stay on my feet, keep helping others, and ensure Heartwarmers can launch to serve even more people. Every contribution, big or small, brings hope and makes a real difference. Thank you for believing in me and this mission.
