My name is April, and I never imagined I’d be in this position. I’ve always loved helping others and feeling that warm sense of community, but now I find myself needing help. After being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, I lost my ability to work and, with it, my health insurance. The hospital won’t even schedule my appointments until I can pay upfront, which has left me feeling overwhelmed and scared.
Right now, any donations will go directly toward getting the imaging I need to see how far the cancer has progressed. My biggest hope is to have a mastectomy on my left breast as soon as possible, and eventually, I’d like to have it reconstructed. Every dollar will help me take a step closer to treatment and recovery.
It’s truly a blessing when people are able to donate. Before my diagnosis, I loved being able to help others in need, and now I’m reaching out for that same kindness. I’m just 47 and I love life, but I’m so tired of being sick. If you’re able to give, even a small amount, it would mean the world to me. Thank you for reading and for any support you can offer.
