On August 20th, our world changed when April, my fiancée, was diagnosed with CMML, a rare form of leukemia. We were expecting our first child, Nico, and suddenly found ourselves facing unimaginable challenges. The doctors explained that carrying the pregnancy to term would put April at serious risk, so they performed an emergency C-section. Now, our son Nico is in the NICU, born three months early, fighting to grow stronger every day. He faces struggles with breathing, eating, and needs ongoing medical care and medication to help him thrive.

April is now beginning chemotherapy and other treatments to fight her leukemia. I am doing everything I can to support both of them—taking April to appointments, being present for Nico in the NICU, and managing our daily needs. The medical bills have grown far beyond what we ever expected, with costs for the NICU, April’s treatments, and all the new medications. While I focus on caring for my family. We are grateful for the love and help from friends and family, but the financial strain is overwhelming.

My greatest hope is to bring Nico home and experience the joy of being a father. I want to see April healthy again, marry her, and finally have the family we’ve dreamed of.
