Help Support April During Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer

UPDATE 3/17/2025:

For the past 2 years my mom has been fighting her ass off to beat this cancer. She has gone through numerous rounds of chemo, doctors appointments and surgeries all while doing it with a smile on her face and extremely positive attitude. Her faith is a true testament to the fierce women, mother and friend she is. Unfortunately, we recently got some test results that were unsettling and the doctors are giving her maybe just a few months left on this earth. We refuse to believe that and I know that my mom is going to continue to fight to kick this cancers ass to continue to stay here as long as she can. With that being said, she may be going into hospice sooner than we thought and she has officially cleaned out her booth at the Rage salon where she has worked for nearly 20 years. She is simply too weak to continue doing hair and has now essentially lost her only source of income.

As we start to plan for the next phase of this battle, the financial piece is always the most taxing. We are going to need to start figuring out the arrangements for an end of life celebration and I will also be having to fly back and forth between San Diego and Colorado for the foreseeable future which is extremely tough as well. I understand how hard times are for everyone but anything you can do to help make this transition easier is more than appreciated to our family.

It is with a heavy heart that I say these words. On December 6th, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Unfortunately, it has spread to her lungs, and the doctors will start an aggressive form of chemotherapy ASAP. That said, my mom will be unable to work for the foreseeable future while she undergoes treatment. 

Anyone who knows my mom knows what a loving, funny, free-spirited, helpful, joyous life of the party she is. Cancer is not something anyone wants to face, and right now, we feel crushed that this is our new reality. My mom is a strong woman and a fighter, and I know we can turn this around! We will continue to stay positive and send her healing energy as she begins her treatment.

I live in San Diego, making this process even more difficult. I am going to work tirelessly to help my mom and be in Colorado as much as possible, but for now, any donations you can provide would be a huge blessing to our family. Every dollar helps so we can help pay for groceries, bills, treatments, doctor visits, etc.
