Help April and Dexter after they lost their home.

Dear friends and Search And Rescue community,

Our teammate April Amoros and her K9 Dexter needs help. On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, while April was at work, a late morning fire consumed her rented home and all their belongings. Dexter was home at the time - we are so grateful to her neighbor Pete who noticed the smoke and acted quickly to get Dexter out of the house. Sadly, her cat and some fish were not able to be saved

April has been an integral part of our SAR team family since she started as a support member. She is SARTech II qualified, and is training Dexter for scent-specific air scent work. She is dedicated to attending nearly every training opportunity, attending seminars & team fundraising events, and assisting her teammates as a flanker. She has devoted numerous hours as a volunteer, to train, travel, and supply the gear she needs to participate in SAR.

Please consider donating to help April regain her independence and find a new place to live.

All money donated through Chesco Search Dogs (West Chester, PA) sponsored fundraiser will go directly to replace EVERYTHING that was lost: from clothing, footwear, toiletries, linens, pillows, furniture, kitchenware and other home goods, to SAR equipment & clothing, tools, packs, first aid kit, boots, gloves – ALL of it, as well as Dexter’s gear and training aids.
