My friend and lovable giant, Apolo, had his world and his family’s world turned upside down when on 6 July 2020 his house was robbed of everything, lightbulbs and children’s clothes and toys included. The once jovial, soft teddy-bear-under-a-caveman-exterior is heartbreakingly deflated. Apolo is always the type of person who is the first to help his peers and is always the loudest person in the room, but his optimism and hope for the future has taken a huge hit. With lockdown, COVID, and now this tragedy, I can’t imagine how hopeless he and his family are feeling, and it shows. I firmly believe that there is good in the world, that there is still plenty to be hopeful for, and that if we can do good in the world, we should; this situation is one of those times. I’m asking those who know him and those who don’t to please donate to help Apolo and his family recover from the burglary.
