Hello everyone, our dog Apollo recently had surgery from a life-threatening emergency of Bloat or GDV (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus). GDV is when a dog's stomach fills with gas and then twists on itself, leading to heavy breathing, the inability to vomit, and pain.
As a family, we decided to go through with the surgery despite the financial cost because Apollo is a core member of our family and we would love to extend his life as much as possible. However, this surgery is very expensive. First, we took him to Ocean Avenue Veterinary Hospital in San Francisco to have him checked out which costs $453.60. We then transferred him to SAGE Veterinary Centers in Redwood City where they stabilized and conducted the surgery on him. The stabilization process cost $3913.42 and the surgery cost $10,000. Altogether, the entire process cost $14,367. We are a low-mid income level family and we are unable to afford to pay off this debt in time. In short, we would appreciate any and all contributions to help pay off this debt on our family. Thank you so much and God bless you.
