Apollo, my son Matt’s beloved cat, recently faced a life-threatening emergency. He was bitten by a spider, which led to a severe infection and necrosis of the tissue around the wound. The infected area grew to the size of a naval orange, and the situation quickly became critical. After taking him to the vet, we learned that Apollo needed surgery to remove the dead tissue in order to save his life; so Matt took him to Urgent Care for the procedure.
Apollo requires daily bandage changes, and only a doctor can perform them because the bandages are stitched into his skin (see photo). The recovery process is long and delicate, and the costs are overwhelming.
Apollo is a wonderful cat and truly part of our family. Although my son Matt can't afford this expense, but he couldn't let Apollo suffer. Regardless of the cost, we did what was right for Apollo.
Anything you can contribute is appreciated. Overall costs are likely to exceed $3500. We cannot thank you enough for your support.
